It is with great pleasure that the Boards of Trustees of Bi-Cultural Day School and the Jewish High School of Connecticut announce their merger. Our new school, the first Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade Jewish Day School in Connecticut, will be known as Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut.
One Community. One School.
This merger lays the foundation for the future of the entire Fairfield County Jewish community, from Greenwich to Fairfield and Westport to Ridgefield. Families can settle in our community with confidence, secure in the knowledge that from early childhood through high school their children will have convenient access to a top-quality, well-rounded, general and Judaic education that is framed by Jewish values.
Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy will carry on our schools’ tradition of caring for the whole child, an effective approach that has led our students to achieve great success as they moved on through life. The stellar education we provide is evidenced by the list of top colleges and universities to which our graduates have matriculated, including: Yale, Princeton, Harvard, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Wesleyan, Cornell, Yeshiva University, Columbia, Barnard, Washington University, Bar-Ilan University, Hebrew University, University of Maryland, among others. In addition, we take pride in our many graduates who have chosen to enlist in the Israel Defense Forces.
As we consolidate operations, Jacqueline Herman will serve as Head of School and Rabbi Elisha Paul will serve as Madrich Ruchani (spiritual leader). The schools will remain in their current locations for the 2018-2019 school year.
We look forward to your participation in this great journey, as we move our community from strength to strength.
